GPS check-in: where and when

When the guard completes the checkpoint task, the app records the device position and the time.   • Attach a location to every checkpoint task while standing at the point, not in the office, so the recorded position is the one the guard's check-in will be compared with.

  • Take the reference photo in the conditions of the shift: at night for a night route, with the yard lights on if that is how the guard will see it.

  • Set the threshold per point. A padlock close-up can be strict; a wide shot of a parking lot with different cars every night should be looser, with the description doing more of the work.

  • Assign the recurring tasks to the shift rather than to a named guard, so a replacement on Tuesday night gets the same route and the same tracking.

  • Decide who receives the notifications for overdue and flagged points on each shift and put that person in the shift schedule. A notification nobody owns is a notification nobody reads.

  • Walk one test round yourself and look at the record from the supervisor's side. If you cannot tell where you were and what you photographed, the client will not be able to either.

Most failures in the first weeks come from the setup, not from the guards.

References taken in daylight for a night route. The AI is asked to compare two different scenes. Retake them at the time the route actually runs.

One threshold for everything. Strict where the frame is simple, looser where the scene changes; otherwise the supervisor drowns in false flags and stops reading them.

No one reviews the flags. Ten minutes each morning during the first two weeks settles the angles and thresholds; after that, flags are rare and each one is worth a call.
